52 Essentials: No. 9, Awards Shows / The 89th Academy Awards (2017)

We're doing something a little different with our latest entry in this series. This week, the two of us recorded a short podcast to discuss the joys of Award Show parties--in particular, the Oscars, Grammys, Emmys and Golden Globes. It's the magical combination of art, spectacle and fluff that makes for the perfect home viewing experience. While this year's party may have been lacking on our end, seeing as it amounted to two half-sick parents eating leftovers in the basement with a couple half-asleep pets while their infant son snored upstairs, the Oscar ceremony itself was one for the ages.
